Decentralized frequency converter NORDAC ON/ON+ now with more power

NORD DRIVESYSTEMS developed its decentralized NORDAC ON SK 300P frequency inverters specifically for the requirements of horizontal conveyor technology in intralogistics and warehouses. The inverters are characterized by an integrated Ethernet interface, Internet of things capabilities, are fully pluggable and have a compact design. The power range of the NORDAC ON has now been extended to 2.6 kW and of the NORDAC ON+ to 3 kW.

NORDAC ON frequency inverters are part of NORD's modular system and can be optimally combined with the manufacturer's motors.

  • NORDAC ON is designed for applications with asynchronous motors,
  • NORDAC ON+ is designed to be combined with highly efficient IE5+ synchronous motors.

The drives can be used over a wide speed range. This way they enable a reduction in the number of variants that are used, for example in large intralogistics systems. NORDAC ON is now designed for powers up to 2.6 kW and NORDAC ON+ up to 3 kW. Both have integrated Industrial Ethernet interfaces. Communication protocols, for example Profinet, EtherNet/IP or EtherCAT, can be easily set via parameters. Firmware updates can be performed via Ethernet. This makes NORDAC ON/ON+ frequency converters ideal for integration into Internet of Things environments. They include a diagnostic interface and M12 connections for sensors and actuators. NORDAC ON also features an additional protocol-based encoder interface, well protected against interference.

Affordable plug-and-play solution

The space-saving decentralized inverters can be integrated perfectly into transport systems, significantly reducing cabling compared to centralized frequency converters. The plug-in connections make the NORDAC ON/ON+ an economic plug-and-play solution for intralogistics applications. The inverters are suitable both for direct motor mounting and wall mounting.

Just like all NORD frequency inverters, NORDAC ON/ON+ is equipped with a powerful PLC for functions close to the drive. It processes data from connected sensors and actuators, initiate control sequences and transmit drive and application data to the control center, network components or cloud storage.

Optional extensions

Various extensions are available for NORDAC ON inverters. They include functional safety functions such as STO, internal braking resistors for dynamic start/stop processes and an integrated brake control, which controls the motor holding brake without wear and ensures reliable maintenance of the stop position when stationary, for example in inclined conveyor belts.

Due to the temperature tolerances of -30 to +40 °C, the NORDAC ON series is also suitable for deep-freeze applications.
