On 20 November 2019, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS celebrated a significant milestone in the construction of a new and automatic small parts store for Plant 11 that will extend the future-proof nature of Getriebebau Nord. Now that the steel support pillars of the new construction have been raised, the site’s further growth significantly progresses.

Since the business formation in 1965, the NORD DRIVESYSTEMS headquarters with its technology and logistics centre, research and development, quality assurance, assembly and administration has experienced a steady growth. In particular the logistics infrastructure is regularly adapted to the internationally growing demand. At the site of the NORD headquarters in Bargteheide, KNAPP AG is building the new construction at Plant 11 as an automatic small parts store and a narrow-aisle warehouse, equipped with a capacity of 72,000 tray and 4,500 pallet spaces. The incoming goods and the shipping departments capacities are extended by seven additional loading and unloading ramps. In addition, Plant 11 will include a large area for packaging materials to ensure worldwide parts supply. The new construction provides more logistics capacities that reduce the load on the high-bay warehouse and the existing storage areas, and further improve the supply chain’s control options.
