The production process of fine chocolate requires a large amount of time spend stirring. In the conche alone, the chocolate is agitated for 18 hours. To keep things moving, there and in many other production steps, the Austrian chocolate manufacturer, Zotter, employs a large number of gearmotors from NORD DRIVESYSTEMS.

Zotter is known and loved by many chocolate connoisseurs for bold experiments with fillings such as asparagus, chili, coconut and lemon. Zotter manufactures all the chocolate coatings for their candies in-house. NORD gearmotors are used in various stages of production: grinding the ingredients, mixing the cocoa paste with sugar and dried milk, adding cocoa butter by means of pump drives, compacting the paste with a screw compressor, conveying various intermediate products and on the conche. The conching process ensures delicate, smooth chocolates with the right flavor. At Zotter, conveying, mixing and pumping come together, each with a custom-configured drive solution from NORD.
