The all-rounder: NORD launches a new series of UNIVERSAL motors for the 0.12 to 45 kW power range. All 20 variants are certified according to common standards and can be used throughout the world.

Europe, USA, Canada, Russia, China, India and many more: The NORD UNIVERSAL motor is CE, UL, CSA, CCC, ISI and EAC certified, meeting the respective efficiency minimum requirements. This allows the all-rounder to be used for the most relevant markets in the world. Due to its Bureau Veritas certification, the motor is also suitable for marine and offshore applications.
The NORD UNIVERSAL motor is marked with four standard operating voltages: 380 V 50 Hz, 400 V 50 Hz, 415 V 50 Hz and 460 V 60 Hz; operation with 440 V 60 Hz and 480 V 60 Hz is also possible. The motors are available in IEC sizes 63 to 225 as foot-mounted motor (B3), flanged motor (B5 or B14) as well as NEMA C flange or NEMA foot-mounted motor for compatibility with the US market. Being directly mounted to the NORD drive unit, the NORD UNIVERSAL motor serves as a compact, more powerful drive solution.
As standard, NORD UNIVERSAL motors are equipped with a temperature sensor. They have IP55 protection class and are produced in thermal class 155 (F). If necessary, they can also be produced in protection class IP66. Other options available for the NORD UNIVERSAL motor are motor plug connectors, single or double protective covers, anti-condensation heater, mechanical brake and external fans.
