New geared motor concept for the food industry

With its patented DuoDrive, NORD launches a groundbreaking innovation: The innovative geared motor in its hygienic wash-down design integrates an IE5+ synchronous motor into a single-stage helical gear unit housing. This makes it ideally suitable for operation in the food industry .

At up to 92%, DuoDrive currently offers the highest system efficiency of a gear unit/motor combination in this power class on the market, and achieves very high systems efficiency in the partial load range. The first available DuoDrive size covers gear unit speed ratios of i = 3.24 to i = 16.2 and is designed for torque ranges of up to 80 Nm and speeds of up to 1,000 min-1.

DuoDrive is easy to clean, corrosion-resistant and wash-down capable – an advantage in hygiene-sensitive and harsh environments in the food industry. The drive system is optionally available with the nsd tupH surface treatment . Protection classes up to IP 69K are also possible.

Furthermore, DuoDrive enables consistent version reduction paired with a smooth, unventilated and compact design. Low wear and less maintenance as well as the simple plug-and-play commissioning of the complete solution result in a significant reduction of the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) .
