How to achieve clearly defined improvements in intralogistics with simple considerations and manageable investment.
Checking the loads on the conveyor belt.
Many drives are designed to take maximum loads. However, these are rarely achieved under real conditions so that the drives mostly run with partial load operation only. The conversion to drives with low power but high overload capacity saves costs and energy.
Which conveyor speeds are necessary?
To achieve the required conveyor speeds in all system components, different motor sizes are used resulting in a wide variety of variants. Using uniform and energy-efficient synchronous motors with frequency inverters enables the realisation of different speeds. Modern synchronous motors also run in the partial load range with high efficiency.
Conversion to efficient synchronous motors
Conventional IE3 asynchronous motors achieve high energy efficiency only within their optimum operating point. A general conversion to modern synchronous motors with IE4 or higher increases efficiency and saves energy. Furthermore, the drive units can be used more flexibly to reduce the number of drive versions.
