nsd tupH surface treatment makes aluminium almost as corrosion resistant as stainless steel. A protective layer is created, which is permanently bonded with the substrate material and will not chip or flake off. The drives are easy to clean and largely resistant to acids and alkalis. It is even possible to use high-pressure cleaners or a wide variety of aggressive media.

Therefore, nsd tupH drive units are an efficient alternative to painted geared motors or stainless steel versions. In contrast to stainless steel drives, which are only offered in few variants, nsd tupH surface treatment is feasible for almost all NORD aluminium products. With nsd tupH aluminium drives, all DIN and standard components as well as the drive shafts are made from stainless steel.

The nsd tupH surface treatment increases the options for using aluminium alloys in gear unit construction. The advantages of lightweight aluminium can now be utilised where previously stainless steel was the preferred material.
