Reducing the carbon footprint
A study
by the Mechanical Engineering Industry Association VDMA and the management consultancy Boston Consulting Group has shown that innovative technologies in mechanical engineering and plant construction can help to reduce CO2 emissions in the entire industry by up to 86 percent. This is what NORD DRIVESYSTEMS builds on with its solutions. “We want to support our customers in using their savings potential, operating their systems in an increasingly resource-saving way and thus reducing their carbon footprint”, Niermann says.
Efficiency of up to 95 percent
High energy savings are, for example, realised by NORD’s IE5+ synchronous motor, which achieves an efficiency of up to 95 percent, or the patented DuoDrive gear unit/motor combination. In this case, an IE5+ synchronous motor was integrated into a single-stage helical gear unit. Calculated across the system, one of the highest efficiencies for this power class in the market can be achieved: up to 92 percent.
