PROTEA, a Polish manufacturer of lifting systems, relies on NORD drive solutions for crane applications, including an overhead crane used in biogas production. The system consists of two independently operated rail-mounted cranes, each equipped with a trolley and winch.

  • The lifting mechanism utilizes an 18.5 kW MAXXDRIVE® series industrial gear unit paired with a motor—mounted via an IEC adapter—that features an integrated brake and encoder. Both are designed for high performance in confined spaces.
  • The crane and trolley are each driven by a flat gearmotor rated at 0.55 kW and 11 kW, respectively.
